I find lately I don't know what to post. I'm not sure why, usually I can come up with some random topic or write about what is going on. Or I can take an everyday situation and make it exciting (at least to myself). I think part of that has to do with the frequency of my blogs. When I was rolling out a blog everyday I was forced to be more creative, I should get back to that.
My latest thoughts revolve around understanding and specifically two different types of understanding. They are what I would term faith understanding and knowledge understanding. In short the difference can be seen in a simple illustration:
The Andes Mountains. I have seen the Andes mountains. I have seen them in books and on television. I have heard them mentioned in classes and have even seen them as part of an I-max movie. But I have never been there. So in essence I have faith that they exist, but this faith is only possible by the validity of the source(s) in which I receive information about the Andes Mountains. This is what I would call faith understanding.
Now pretend I travel to the Andes Mountains. I hike them, I climb them and I myself take pictures and document my trip through parts of them. This is what I term knowledge understanding as I have an intimate knowledge of the object in which understanding is the final goal.
I know this may seem a bit confusing, but I am spending some time trying to improve the way I think, reason and by default write. It's also thoughts like these that help me think on and about God. All in all a difficult exercise, but one I have found necessary to life.
Other thoughts I am currently having revolve around 'emergent' properties and how they themselves are created and interact with parts of a whole. Ahhh life :)
