And already it is Wednesday! The weekend went pretty well and the highlight was
That last one may sound a little strange, but here is where I got the idea and I like it. During a men’s bible study a couple weeks back a friend of mine brought up that his family had a ‘creed’ they tried to live by. Since having 2 children they have turned this creed into a song. And apparently their children respond by seeing someone that needs help and wanting to help them by saying “we should help because ‘every person matters’ and we help others (creed items #2 & #5)”
Here is the creed:
XYZ Family Creed:
1. We honor God.
2. Every person matters to us.
3. We are thankful.
4. We don't speak "winese".
5. "Can I help you with that?"
6. We give our best.
7. We Celebrate!

Very cool. In our life group, we just finished a book (Covenant Marriage) in which one of the chapters was about setting family goals, which seems very similar to this. This is on our docket to do soon.
I love this ideal! I'm going to steal it. :)
I'm working on one for me:
1. We don't eat donuts... often
2. We don't beat the elderly
3. We sleep
4. Our dogs are more important than you
5. Yes, I would like fries with that
6. I have to pee
What do you think? On the right track? I'd call it a great start to a happy family.
I find it interesting that you chose #2 to define your family by what you don't do, rather than what you do do (yes, pun intended)
