Why are we selling?
The long and short of it is that there are some short & long term goals that we'd like to meet. By short term, I mean the next 3 years. Long term covers the next 10 years. The goals:
- Start a family (short term)
- Allow Erin the choice to stay at home if she wishes (short term)
- Move into a home (larger goal would be to buy a house completely with cash) (short term)
- Pay off all of our debt (including a home) (long term)
A good friend of mine owns a mobile home in Christiansburg that we have agreed to buy. It'll be a lot less space, but we are both willing to sacrifice now in order to change things for the rest of our lives. We plan on moving by the end of July. The place has 2 beds & 2 baths along with a storage shed, a screened in front porch and a back deck.
Since we have decided to sell we have gone back and forth on renting the place for a few years, max 3. Our plan is to try and sell and rent at the same time and see what comes along. Erin has been busy painting, the downstairs half-bath should be finished this weekend and the place goes on the market on Monday, so we have LOTS to do in the next 4 days! We are looking forward to the adventure :)

How exciting! I hope everything goes well with the sale/rent of the townhouse. We enjoyed the selling process of our condo and the buying process of our home...hopefully it will be a positive experience for you guys too.
Your goals sound great - we have very similar ones in place. It's nice to know where you're going, especially once you get married and you have to move in the same directions. =)
BTW-on the way to work this morning we saw a CRX which always makes me think of Brian. I told David about hanging out in the arcade before reporting to work at Popeye's and "I Swear". Good memories!
