A weekend of fun

This past weekend was the Phi Sigma Pi summer meeting. Since I am an Alumni Advisor I take interest in such things. Does it mean I went to the meeting? Nope. It does mean that I was able to see a lot of the brothers since they traveled back into town. Instead of sitting in the meeting I played Frisbee Golf out in Christiansburg with some fellow alumni. I'd post pictures, but I left the camera in the car as it looked like rain. Saturday afternoon held a pool party followed by everyone heading to an apt to catch up. Needless to say the evening was a very good one and an adventure at that.

Sunday I hiked Dragon's tooth with a friend. The hike was a very good one. The weather was not too hot and I always like a little humidity. The views at the top were spectacular (I'm including a photo in this post) and there was a nice breeze going. Upon heading back to the Dragon's tooth lot it started to rain, so I was even able to try out my rain gear. As I drove off a rainbow appeared. So yeah, quite the hike.

This week should be fairly sane. Tuesday night is my only free night and I think I am going to stay in and get some errands/house work done. I need to look at my finances and figure out trips and if & when I will have enough to purchase a canoe. Plans for the rest of the summer include:
  • Canoeing
  • Family Reunion
  • Camping (Fri - Sun trek)
  • Rafting the New River on a homemade raft
  • Rock Climbing
  • A weekend at the beach
I also heard from my cousins over in Pulaski county last night, so I'll have to get them involved in some of this as well.

In other news the weekend for this fall's Alpha Eta football tournament has been set as October 21-23. Better start thinking about preparing for our third consecutive Championship Run!

Lunch is over, time for more work!
