Went camping over Labor Day weekend and it was the first camping trip of the summer (shame). We stayed off of a tributary to the New River (which is thought to be the 2nd oldest river to the Nile) on some land that my Mother-in-law's friends own. They all get together on major holidays and have cookouts and I usually try and get there the day before and camp. It was the perfect weekend for it.
I also started teaching a High School Personal Finance class today. I have 4 students and the class went well, actually 45 minutes flew by. I was working on the lesson plan last night and kept coming up with ideas. I think teaching will be a good way to exercise my creativity. Getting high school aged kids to think at 7:30a.m. should pose a formidable challenge.

So, you're a High school teacher huh? That's exciting. =)
Glad you enjoyed your labor day camping. We did a cruise last week for our 5th anniversary - can you believe it's been 5 years already? Anyway, it's always nice to get a chance to relax.
We're about to do our first hike of the summer (2.6 mile loop trail around Lonesome mountain). It's the first hike of the summer, because there's a chance it won't be 100 by 9am tomorrow morning!
I always thought even in Virginia that Sept/Oct made the best hiking/camping weather anyway.
