Yeah, so the title is a little cliche... But it's me, what do you expect? Puns and cliches should be your answer. Yesterday was a whirlwind day. Waking up, saying goodbye to family and heading down to NYC for the weekend. Got into town around 12:30pm and dropped off the luggage at my friend Nader's place. Took the car out to New Jersey and by the time we traveled back into the city about 3.5 hours had went by.
Headed to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to meet up with Justin and Ali (Justin is a friend that I met at Virginia Tech) and walked through the Vincent Van Gogh exhibit. Interesting to see how much his work changed throughout his life. And his tragic demise when he cut off his ear to send it to his girlfriend and later killed himself. Odd...
After that it was back for a quick dinner then a trip to see "Wicked", which was wonderful. I was expecting it to be good, but it surprised me. Erin loved it as well :) Then a quick trip to Times Square and the Virgin Record Megastore ended our evening.
Unexpectedly the airline changed our flight times back to the original date (Jan. 1) so it looks like we might be loosing a day in NYC. Erin is not too pleased and it is a bit disappointing, I'm trying to change it back without $420 in fees... Wish me luck! Today's plans include traveling all over Manhattan to cover a lot of the city in a day. Not sure where we will be for New Year's yet, but it won't be Times Square. 6 hours corralled in a metal fence is not my idea of fun.
