Gearing up for Summer

It is May 2nd and there is a lot on the horizon. Wedding planning, getting ready for summer Ultimate Frisbee (starts in June) and hiking/camping. This past weekend I took a hike to Kelly's Knob with a few friends. The views were nice and the company was great. The only thing I would have changed is that I would have let out a little of the air in my sleeping pad, it was a bit too rigid. The pack was also pretty heavy for the first time out and I don't recommend taking a heavy pack out after lifting legs at the gym the day before.

Since all this is coming up I've decided to go on a diet. A diet? But Rex you are skinny enough (163 lbs. to be exact). Right. I agree. This diet is not so much to loose weight as it is to change my diet. I'm now eating 6 times a day, just smaller meal sizes. It helps the metabolism speed up and is better for the body. I'm also eating healthy. Protein, carbs and veggies/fruit during every meal. And the meals I do not fix I either drink (meal replacement shake) or have a meal replacement bar, which tastes like a chocolate candy bar. Much better than a power bar! So although I'm not a fad diet person I am a 'eat a healthy meal & exercise' guy more so now. I'm also working out 6 days a week. 3 lifting days and 3 cardio days. I am hoping come wedding time that all this working out has me in pretty good shape. I already notice that my pants are a little more loose. And the added energy has been great!
